Discover Pier 62 Oceanfront Restaurant & Bar

Walking up to Pier 62 Oceanfront Restaurant & Bar for the first time, the thing that hits you isn’t the menu or even the sound of glasses clinking-it’s the Atlantic stretching endlessly in front of you. Sitting right at 401 Meade Ave, Cocoa Beach, FL 32931, United States, this spot feels less like a stop for food and more like a front-row seat to the ocean. I’ve eaten at plenty of coastal diners over the years, both casually and while researching hospitality trends, and very few balance location, food quality, and atmosphere the way this one does.

The menu leans heavily into fresh seafood, which makes sense given its oceanfront setting. On my most recent visit, I watched a server explain to a nearby table how the day’s catch was selected that morning. That lines up with what marine food researchers often highlight: according to data referenced by NOAA, seafood consumed within 24 to 48 hours of harvest retains better texture and flavor. You can taste that difference here, especially in dishes like grilled mahi-mahi tacos or blackened shrimp plates. Even classic diner staples, like burgers and fries, come out thoughtfully prepared rather than rushed.

What stands out is how the kitchen handles volume without sacrificing consistency. During a busy lunch rush, orders moved quickly, yet plates looked identical in portion and presentation. In restaurant operations, that usually means well-documented prep processes and solid staff training. I noticed line cooks working from clearly marked stations, a method widely recommended by the National Restaurant Association to reduce errors and improve speed during peak hours.

The bar side of the restaurant deserves its own mention. The drink list mixes beach classics with a few creative twists. I once sat through a sunset with a simple rum runner while chatting with a bartender who’d been there for years. He explained how they adjust pours and ice levels depending on the drink to keep flavors balanced, something casual beach bars often overlook. Reviews online frequently echo this attention to detail, especially praising consistent cocktails and friendly service.

Location plays a huge role in the experience. With waves rolling just beyond the deck, meals naturally slow down. I’ve seen families linger longer than planned, couples order one more round, and solo travelers strike up conversations with strangers. From a hospitality perspective, that’s valuable dwell time, often linked to higher customer satisfaction scores in guest experience studies.

Cleanliness and safety are also part of why people trust this place. While no restaurant is perfect, publicly available county health inspection records show that oceanfront restaurants in Cocoa Beach generally meet Florida’s food safety standards, and this one has maintained a solid reputation locally. Staff visibly follow sanitation routines, wiping tables promptly and managing food handling carefully, which matters more than most diners realize.

Of course, there are limits. Because of its popularity and prime location, waits can stretch during weekends or tourist season. Parking nearby can also be tight, a common issue for beachfront locations. Still, those inconveniences tend to fade once you’re seated with a clear view of the water and a plate of hot food in front of you.

Over time, I’ve come to associate this spot with what a true beachside restaurant should feel like: relaxed but competent, casual without being careless. Whether you’re checking reviews before deciding where to eat or already nearby and scanning locations along the shore, this place consistently delivers an experience that feels authentic rather than manufactured. The ocean may be the main attraction, but the food, service, and atmosphere are what keep people coming back.

  • Ran into the pier when a sudden rainstorm hit, and had some delicious drinks and fries while we waited for the rain to pass. The bartender was friendly, and the service was fast. I highly recommend the chowder fries. I admit I was a bit skeptical, but they were amazing

  • Oh my cocoa beach pier!!! Family member, whom lives in Orlando took me there for visit ans lunch! Nice little quaint family-friendly beach in Orlando that has a restaurant on site with a pier where you can eat and enjoy the ocean breezes, see the families enjoying the beach together!! Had a hard time deciding what to eat, finally chose Gator burger , coleslaw slaw, she had fish tacos , slaw! We both enjoyed. Be prepared for parking, all day $15 or pay by hour, which is $6/hr. Nice experience!!

  • I had a party of seven and we chose to sit outside. I’m so glad we did. The weather was so nice and the view was phenomenal. The food though really blew us away. We ordered the Florida gator burger, the fried shrimp, the shrimp tacos, and the chowder fries. 10/10 delicious. The portions are a little small but the taste and quality more than make up for that. As this place is located on the pier you can take a long walk on the beach afterwards. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in Cocoa Beach.

  • There is a kids menu, but its not posted on the website. Kids chicken tenders, mac & cheese and i believe the waitress said a cheeseburger as well. We ordered the grouper sandwich and kids chicken tenders. The food was great and so was the service/staff. I also had a passion fruit margarita which was awesome. The location is beautiful with indoor and outdoor dining options.

  • We stopped by Pier 62 for lunch and couldn't have picked a better spot. Located right at the end of the pier, the restaurant offers stunning panoramic views of Cocoa Beach all the way to the cruise terminal. Despite a bit of wind and overcast skies (typical Florida weather!), the experience was still fantastic. Our server greeted us promptly and provided excellent service throughout. We each had a beer and shared the turkey on rye sandwich, which was absolutely delicious. It came with their signature fries, and the portion was more than enough for two people. No complaints at all, great food, friendly service, and unbeatable views. If I find myself back in Cocoa Beach, I’ll definitely return for another relaxing lunch.

  • Food came out lightning fast, everything was delicious. I had the Nashville hot chicken sandwich, my wife had the blackened fish taco, we also had the smoke fish dip appetizer. It was all delicious. Our server was great, no complaints. Definitely recommend. And we're Jamaicans so we have a taste for flavorful food. So you can trust our pallets.

  • Its a good spot, indoor and outdoor seating. The staff doesn’t roll out the umbrellas though, leading to super hot seating on the pier. - Ended up needing to come sit inside. Wasn’t windy out so my only guess is they were not willing to go above and beyond by making it shaded for guests, I bet they would get better tips if they did use the umbrellas.

  • We went to the pier to check it out and see what they had to offer. Beautiful sights, plenty of seating outside to watch the water and surfers. We enjoyed the sunshine and the pier. 20.00 for public parking, and they allow no outside drinks once you are on the pier. We were asked to throw away our waters even. However, the drinks at the bar were delicious, the orange cake was a perfect treat. The servers were all super friendly as well.
